Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Everest Indien, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Auch, France, located at 6 Rue d'Etigny. This charming family-owned restaurant beckons those in search of authentic Indian cuisine and warm hospitality.

Upon entering Everest Indien, visitors are greeted with a cozy atmosphere that embraces the spirit of Indian hospitality. The owner takes pride in ensuring that every guest feels welcome, embodying the essence of familial warmth and generosity, as reflected in the glowing reviews from patrons.

While the menu is accessible via a QR code—an innovative but occasionally challenging feature—guests are rewarded with a diverse array of dishes that showcase the vibrancy of Indian flavors. From the crispy samosas to the chef's special chicken, it's clear that Everest Indien strives for authenticity. However, some guests have noted that the spice levels can be understated, leaving a desire for more robust flavors that are often synonymous with Indian cuisine.

The experience can vary—from the delightfully tender chicken in the mains to the unfortunate flat and oily butter naan, which might not meet the expectations of those familiar with the fluffy, puffy Indian bread from the UK. Nonetheless, the restaurant’s commitment to service shines through as the owner often insists on complimentary drinks, epitomizing their dedication to customer satisfaction.

Overall, Everest Indien stands out for its warm ambiance and friendly service, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone looking to embrace the flavors of India in a welcoming setting. Enthusiastic recommendations from previous diners assure that the experience is more than just about the food; it’s about the shared moments and the jovial interactions with an owner determined to make your visit memorable.

If you find yourself wandering through Auch, make sure to stop by Everest Indien. Allow yourself to be enveloped in the rich tapestry of Indian culture and cuisine, and while you may encounter a few hiccups, the heartwarming service can turn any dining experience into a cherished memory.

There was a slight language barrier but we managed to get a table and order our food. We were told to scan a QR code for the menu but only one of us had internet and they had no wifi, so had to share a phone screen. We eventually managed to order our food & drinks and later on got some water, too. I believe the solo waiter was also helping in the kitchen so we didn’t see much of him. We asked for “medium spice”. The starters came and the samosas (both vegetarian and chicken) were extremely dry and they had no lemon. Luckily, the mint sauce allowed us to eat them, and they were quite tasty. Our guests were happy with the mixed starter apart from one bland item. The mains came and the chef’s special chicken was very tasty. The chicken masala was somewhat tasty but neither dish had any spice to them whatsoever, not even a hint, and the masala was a bit watery. We had plenty of rice. Unfortunately, the butter naan I had ordered was flat, oily, and not very tasty, unlike the beautiful, puffy, risen stuff I was used to in the UK. The plain naan was slightly better. The waiter/owner was very nice and insisted we had additional drinks free of charge at the end of the meal but we were full.

Excellent, yummy food and extremely friendly, generous and helpful owner. This family owned restaurant is a must visit if you are in Auch. Warm and cozy ambience and lovely people to interact with. Just go for it. You will love it. Indian hospitality at its best.

We had a wonderful meal tonight. The owner is a lovely and very chatty man. The food was absolutely delicious. Tasty chicken and so tender. The sauces were not greasy and were full of flavour. If we are in the area again we would definitely return here. Thanks for a lovely experience
